When people say they've heard of/know someone with a weird name, do you believe them?

There are so many urban legends of people named Oranjello and Yellojello and Female, etc. So do you think ppl lie when they say they knew someone who knew someone with that name?

  • It depends on the name and the person telling the story. The ones you have listed may have actually existed, but I've never met anyone who met them personally; it's always someone they know who is a nurse worked in the hospital where they were born or a teacher had them as students (I take this as more of an urban legend or a joke).

  • I don't know. I've heard the jello one since I was a kid, and shu-theed ($hithead) and Ah-sho-lay (asshole). But even though they are urban legends that have been around since we were kids (I have a hard time believing the jello ones) some people really do name their kids weird things, so who knows. I really DID personally know a little girl named Abcde (Ab-suh-dee), so I guess anything's possible.

  • I think some people say "I know someone named...." but they just heard of the name somewhere else and they don't really KNOW them. I really do think those names exsist though!

  • I remember a looong time ago, I believe it was The Maury Povich Show, (before when he used to somewhat good shows, and not all about paternity tests LOL) He had a show about people with funny names. He had a guy on there, his name was Santa Clause (he showed his DL), and a girl named April Showers. There was a few more, I just can't remember them right now.
