why does my son keeps hitting himself???

he is 2 and a half. has been told he has toddler OCD along with some other weird behavoirs.. he doesnt do it for attention i ignore him when he does it or when he throws fit.. if we tell him not to throw something he takes it and hits himself with it really hard. he sometimes leaves bruises. he has alot of health issues and is off and on steriods as well as other meds. has had multiple surgeries. the drs want me to journal his life for a month then we will talk about seeing a behavioral specailist depending on how severe they think he is. i know hes not autistic he is very socail and loving but they have said he has some tendancies. his weird habits include he picticalar about his food like it cant touch, or others cannot touch it, he can be mud from head to toe but he cant have nothing on his hands. he eats everything by colors one at a time, he groups everything by colors and is always lining things up and freaks if its not

These are all signs of autism. Your child can have autism AND be loving and verbal...both of my children are a testament to that! He may also have sensory processing disorder.
