  • What's the purpose for you calling the chaplain? I don't understand. Are you only wanting to research catholicism when you have no strong belief in God? If you're looking for a religion to plant some roots and to continue your faith through Christ then that's different. I wasn't sure if you truly believe in God or just believe in a god...you used lower case for the name and Christians use capital letters in reference to God or Him.

  • I think you ask for an hour meeting and when you are face to face it will be much easier. Your questions and the conversation will just flow.

  • no i want to find a spiritual path. not just research. and im caling the chaplain cause well with anything religious on military posts. thats sorat where you start...and you cant attend cath. mass here without being signed up first. im sorta looking for that stepping stone to start on this process if that makes sense....

and i do believe in god not just random gods

if youve read my previous posts recently regarding cath. mass and god etc etc. it helps...if not..omg its too much to type haha.

  • lilbit, She states that she is "looking" for some answers, not that she is a Christian who has some questions about her faith (not to mention that there isn't a capital letter in her entire question, LOL!)

Call him, he can help, and 3 weeks can get you a lot of answers, and headed in the right direction from here. Are you military?

  • im a military veteran...the hubby is military, i got out of the army about 2 years ago.

we are moving to germany in a few weeks. YAY. but thats off topic lol.

i dont know why im so nervous to call him hah. i feel like im confronting an issue ive left unresolved for awhile.....ive neglected my spirituality and been half ass about it for awhile.

and your correct, im looking for my path right now..im not a christian with questions. i do believe in god but i have never called mysled christian. and i dont capitalize anything lol. i save good grammar, spell check and all that for when it sneeded lol

  • You call him up and say that you are interested in learning more about Catholocism, explain that you will be leaving soon and ask him what steps you should take and if he can meet with you and answer some of your questions.

Catholocism for Dummies is a good place to start - it's not too heavy or theological and it explains what Catholics believe and why in easy to understand language.

I also gave you a couple of links in your last post, if you haven't checked them out you might want to.

  • Just call and tell him everything you've said here. My former pastor was a chaplain for ten years on a military base - he said he heard it all, LOL. That's what they're there for!
