introducing whole milk??

do you start with the formula and add milk instead of water? mine barely even eats formula now, he just eats 2nd and 3rd foods and lots of juice! just wondering how to engage him in it...I think he'll love it!

  • You can just switch if they will take it. If not do half and half, and keep lessening the amount of formula.
Babies should be drinking 24-32 oz of mil or formula a day. Sounds like you need to get rid of the juice.

  • My LO can only have 8 oz of milk a day otherwise we get constipated. Sorry TMI. We started by doing 1/2 and 1/2. She really took to it. She loves her milk, but you may want to cut down on the juice and add some extra water to the diet.

  • You can mix formula with milk... but still make the formula like normal... just make like 4 oz and 2 oz milk and work your way up.
We started whole milk at 11 months giving small amounts during the day. Now he takes about half milk and half either expressed breastmilk or formula. We probably won't take him off formula right at a year... he's not been the greatest eater lately.
