Where can I get accurate information about Charlemagne?

I ran a Blackle (by google) search and got a bunch of junk about some guy with the online name of Charlemagne not the actual Emporer... I wanted to do some research on him for my book as I feel he is a great part of the reason that Christianity blossomed the way it did during the "Dark Ages"... But finding actual and factual information seems to be impossible... And I want to make sure I get it right.

If you don't know of any sites - how about books...

  • Type in "emperor charlemagne" in the google search bar - there are a TON of sites. Also, if there's a university nearby, you might go see if they'll let you do some research there (they won't let you check out books if your not a student, but many will let you do reading and take notes).

    Good luck, hon!
