Can i do this?

i have a treadmill and im 14 weeks prego i havent worked out since i found out i was prego but i want to start walking a little how long should i do and what grade.. And is it ok to start this if i havent done it for a while?

  • Walking is fine while preggo. While walking is exercise, everyone walks and unless you are a high risk pregnancy there is really no need to check with a doctor first! You don't have to run everything you do by a doctor!

    For your first few walks - don't use any incline. Also, start your pace slow - 2.5. If you are comfy with that then increase to 2.8 or 3.0. You SHOULD be able to talk and carry a conversation with another person. If you cannot then you need to slow down or take a rest.

  • Walking is a great exercise to do while pregnant. But you really have to pay attention to you body. Don't get overheated, drink lots of water and if you feel even a little pain, STOP! And, like Samantha said, check with your doctor first! Congrats, by the way!
