Preg test with late ovulation..

I know you can take a pregnancy test up to "5 days before your missed period" however what if you ovulate really late does it take longer?

  • Some women do have shorter leutal (sp?) phases than others. That's the time frame between ovulation and menstruation. Leutal phase is TYPICALLY about 14 days. Some studies show that women with shorter leutal phases may have more difficulty getting pregnant due to the lack of time for successful implantation.

I have a long cycle (33-38 days) and I ovulate around days 20-25. If you take a test 2 weeks after ovulation it should be accurate, no matter when your period is due. Does that make sense?

  • (No) You ovulate 14 days before your next period, not after. So just take the test when you think you will have your period.

  • Actually not everyone ovulates by the textbook. Some can be later. I was asking because I ovulate late in my cycle if it would take longer than by my missed period to show a pos. preg test.

  • "5 days before your missed period" would mean about 10 days after ovulation.
