Have you ever used the copper IUD for birth control?!?

Back in February of this year, i got the copper IUD device inserted for 10years.
Have any of you became pregnant while having it?
Did your body expelled it?
Did you ever get infections such as yeast while on it?
Did you spot frequently or vaginal discharge was slightly pink/rose color?
What are pros/cons?

  • i used one for a year with no real problems. I had some cramping for about a week after insertion, but nothing after. I checked for the string once a month and it never moved. No infections, minimal white discharge. I got pregnant about 4 months after having it removed.

I can't take hormones, so this was a great alternative
You can conceive immediately after removal. No waiting on hormones to leave your system.
Risks of infection are a lot lower than they used to be

Lots of women have pain from the implant
There are risks of it moving or tearing.
