Chicken pox?

My son is two and a half and has had his vericella vaccine. He is broke out all over his entire body and it looks like chicken pox. Is it possible that he still could get it even though he has been vaccinated?

  • The CP vaccine is only about 60% effective and often times the shot itself gives them the disease for this one. All the vaccines are not 100% and often times vaccinated children get the diseases they are vaccinated against. During most measles outbreaks about half the cases are fully vaccinated children!

  • Yes, being vaccinated does not guarantee that your child will not contract the disease.

  • Yes you can still get pox with the vaccine.

  • Yep, it's MAYBE 60 % effective. Another reason my boys haven't gotten that vaccine.
