I bath my baby every other night. When do you start bathing them every night? Do you use aveeno lotions and wash or do you use johnson and johnson? My dr told me to use fragrance free products.

  • My son is 23 mos && he gets bathed every other night, unless he gets really dirty or sweaty playing. I still only use Johnson && Johnson.

  • I don't think bathing every night is a good thing. It washes away all their natural oils which protect their skin.

  • I think he started getting a bath every night at about 5 months...around the time he transition to his crib and we wanted to start a real bedtime routine. We use both Aveeno and Johnson's soap and lotion.

  • We started bathing him every night when it got really humid and sticky.. he was about 5 or 6 months... we also use baby powder in the summer instead of lotion because it just gets slimey and gross .. We use Huggies and Johnson's

  • I've never bathed my children every night, not even every other night. Not that I think it's wrong, it's just not something I do. I always used Johnson and Johnson baby wash (because I got a ton of it at my baby shower and it lasted me 2 years!) But recently my daughter started getting rashes that I thought were maybe eczema so I started using Aveeno unscented baby wash. She hasn't had a rash since.

  • up until they started crawling and getting dirty i bathed them every 3-4 days... i whipped the essential areas with a warm rag but they need the oils on their skin... now they go every other night, or sometimes 2 days with out a bath.. depending on how dirty they get.... being too clean can cause health problems...

we also used j&j... until we ran out.. now we use suave for kids.....

  • I bathe my daughter every night and always have, we also rarely use lotion and she has very soft skin, not dry at all.

I like the routine of a daily bath, and since they wear a diaper all day I think it's good to give them a break from the diaper and let their little bum soak.

We use huggies baby wash. I don't like the smell of Aveeno.

  • my girls are sensitive to johnson and johnson (BOOHOO I love the smell!!!!) - they have an allergy to Aloe.

#1 was every other night, #2 as well...except when they got really grubby.

#3....ummmm.....yeah. well....not as diligent with her. lol

  • I have always bathed my son daily, and I stopped using lotion on him after he was a couple of months old because he HATED when I would rub it on him, and he has never had a problem with dry skin or anything. I agree with a previous poster that after being in a diaper all day, it's good for their little bottom to get some air & kind of soak for a little while. I used Johnson's baby wash for a while, and then I switched to Parent's Choice (the Wal-Mart generic of Johnson's).
