  • I love Dorthea Benton Frank's books, they are funny and romantic at the same time. I'm reading her book "Plantation" right now. Jodi Picoulti is good too if you haven't read her. Cassandra King is good too, my fav by her is "The Same Sweet Girls" I also like Steve Barry.

  • I already read them but I can recommend Philipa Gregory (The other Boleyn Girl) or Janet Evenovich (humor/mystery). Have fun!

  • Phillipa Gregory has many awesome books, I love all of them. Janet Evanovich is also a great writer, her Stephanie Plum series is hilarious. Jodi Piccoult is an excellent writer too.

  • The Twilight series of books by Stephenie Meyer are not too heavy. When my husband bought me the first two books, at first I commented, "Those are kids books!" But I couldn't put the first one down. I read all 500+ pages in a week. I still need to read the fourth one---haven't bought it yet. The first two were in paperback a few months ago so they weren't too pricey.
