Because there is not enough focus on policing people who shouldn't be having guns in the first place. People kill each other in the streets everyday, and in a lot of cases they did not register to get the gun.

I think there could be worse problems out there. Like a dictatorship regime controlling the nation with militant force and stripping us of our freedoms, controlling our food supply, refusing medical supplies, and raping the citizens. Guns seem to be the smallest of problems when I look at the big picture.. jmho

Most of it is gang violence, and drug disputes. Gun violence is highest in urban areas.
