What's fun to do in Dallas Texas?

My boyfriend and my best friend both live in Dallas and I'm going to visit them at the end of the month for a week. I was wondering what we could do for fun, taking into consideration a few things: a) Its a LOT hotter there than I'm used to here in Wisconsin, b) we'll probably have my boyfriend's 9 & 8 year old daughters, c) I'll be almost 20 weeks pregnant with twins and I get tired easily. Is there anything like a good museum where we can be in the air conditioning and take our time with?

  • Awww, I was going to type "leave it." but now I see you're going to be preggo and laden with children when you come.

The aquarium is awesome, so is the Dallas Museum of Art.  I love the Kimball Museum in Fort Worth, too.

Since the girls will get very seriously bored with fun stuff like museums (hey, I like 'em!) I'll also suggest the Dallas Galleria.

    Congratulations and enjoy your trip!

  • although I have never been...I have heard that The Dallas World Aquarium is awesome

you could ride the Dart train to it...we love to ride the train

it is within the "West End" which is a good place to just stroll around

  • I don't know if you'd be up to it or not since you're carrying two (congrats btw!) but we have several smaller water parks in the area? they have "lazy rivers" where you can just float around in a tube and a wave pool? the eight and nine year old would love it? on Friday nights, they have a movie that is shown in the wave pool (the waves don't come on of course during the movie) it is a fun way to watch a movie? the slides stay open until about 8:30 and then they show the movie around 8:45
