  • Actually they aren't that bad. Yes some stuff is more expensive but I guess it depends on what you are buying. They do have conventional food too. I find the organic produce and meat is about the same as conventional in a store like Giant Eagle but the organic is more expensive in a store like giant Eagle. That is what Whole Foods specializes in so that's why most things are about the same or cheaper.

  • in general, their prices on organics are lower than neighborhood grocers and higer than costco, target and trader joes. the Indian markets generally have very inexpensive produce.
the whole foods house brands are all very good quality. i never go without coupons (like from www.mambosprouts.com) and look at the sale flyers and store coupons before shopping.

  • Whole Foods is ok. I prefer Trader Joe's for good prices. Whole Foods has more variety. I usually hit both places.

  • Look for the "loss leaders" which are the super-cheap items they advertise to get people in. Also, inside the door should be a location that has a lot of magazines, etc. Look for theirs and check out the coupons in the back. Also, their 365 store brand is absolutely awesome.

  • High. Why waste your money on "organic" though. There's no proof anything is truly organically grown---some stores just put that label on so they can charge more. An apple is an apple is an apple. Wash it and it's a good apple, whether it's "organic" or not.
