why would there be an ivestigation a month and half later on drug overdose?

  • Why do people still investigate murders that happened 30+ years ago?

    There are investigations on drug overdose cases all the time regardless of the date of death. One reason would be most insurance policies don't pay out for suicides. If the drug overdose was ruled a suicide on the death certificate then the family doesn't get paid. If it is ruled accidental then they do get paid.
