CAREFULLY rub a gentle formula of nail polish remover (for acrylic nails), using an old washcloth (will want to toss afterward). When done cleaning (and it should come off with repeated applications), clean the area with Murphy's Oil Soap and maybe a little Pledge wood cleaner or floor wax to get rid of the dullness the nail polish remover may have left behind.
I've done this on our wood floors and a wood coffee table, and it worked GREAT! Just take your time so you don't create more damage.
