fetal echo cardiogram??

has anybody had an fetal echo cardiogram?? i have to have one on friday and im just trying to get an idea of what to expect?? how do they check the babys heart when it is still inside me?? my head in spinning!!!! please help

  • It's pretty much just like a longer ultrasound. I had to have a couple because a possible genetic history of tetralogy of fallow (sp?) on the bio dad side. One twin had a small hole that was watched until he was a few months old and it had closed. If I remember right, they measure the sound waves produced by the beating heart and look for any irregularities.
