  • Remember that all babies are different. Do not compare yours to other babies. Those other babies may be crawling sooner than yours or talking later - it doesn't mean yours is extra smart or behind. Just different. And the same wtih parenting techinques. What works for other moms may not work for you and your methods are not the best ones out there - even it they were best for YOU. All babies, all moms, all families are different. Trust your instincts to do what's best for YOURS and don't blast other moms for doing the same.

  • It's OK for baby to cry. Take a break, put baby somewhere safe and walk away for 5 or 10 minutes. It won't hurt baby, but it could very well keep you from doing something you regret or just keep you sane :)

  • Sleep when baby sleeps, read to baby as often as you can, don't be afraid to ask someone to watch your baby when you need a break. Get out once in a while and pamper yourself without baby around. And the most important thing of all: Everyone makes mistakes. Parenting is a learning process and as long as you have the best intentions with your actions and you don't harm your baby, they're very resilient and can get over just about anything.
