  • Get a convertible seat. It will face both directions comfortably for your child (up to 35 lbs rear facing, and more weight forward facing, if I remember correctly).

  • Buy a convertible carseat. that way he can safely rear-face until he reaches a year old, and you will have a seat ready to go when it comes time to turn him around.

  • You get a convertible seat that let's him stay rear facing until 35 to 40 pounds. His weight gain will slow over the next 6 months and will really fall off after that.

  • They make convertable seats that go up to 80 pounds.

  • Convertible seat. Two of mine were in them from birth.

He's already over the weight limit of the seat. It is no longer safe for him. You really should consider getting him into a convertible seat as soon as you can.

  • You need to get him a convertible seat ASAP. He CANNOT be in his infant seat if he has outgrown it by weight... it isn't safe. Even if he still fits into the seat the straps are only crash tested to the limit on the seat.
They make a wide range on convertible seats. These are good seats, from high to low (in price) you need to go fine one today
Cosco Scenera, Evenflo Triumph Advance, Graco MyRide 65, First Years TrueFit, and any of the Britax convertibles.

Any of these will keep him rearfacing to at least 35 lbs and some even up to 40 lbs.

  • Get a convertible car seat, and know that they will slow down with the weight gain. My son gained weight so quickly when he was young, but then it leveled off. Don't worry, you won't have a 46 lb. 1 year old :)

  • There are convertible seats that rearface to 40lbs, graco Myride65 is only about $150 online and at babiesrus, its an AWESOME seat, it harnesses to 65lbs when FFed too.

Theres also the Sunshine kids radian, also an awesome seat, hard to find in stores, is a bit more expensive its a narrow seat and great for 3 across, RFs to 40 lbs can harness to 65 or 80lbs depends on what you want, and is taller than the MR65 by about 4 inches. It withstood a parking garage collapse with 3 floors on top of it

You CAN NOT use a seat past the weight limit, the straps will not hold him in a crash. They have only been made to hold the weight it says. Height he can go over if his head is less than an inch from the top, but weight NO get a new seat NOW
