Need help! Nicknames?

Ok so my husband wants me to name our child after him, and I want to as well. The only problem is finding a nickname to call him when he is little until he can decide what he wants to be called. The name is Norman Bartley, and I can't think of any that my husband likes. What are some suggested nicknames for this name?

  • you don't need a nickname do you?

we tried to give my girls nicknames. but none of them stuck, and well my oldest is quite adamant about correcting people when they do shorten her name (its kinda funny...) she's Susanne, and people always try to call her sue, or susie. Same with my middle dd Victoria - we tried nicknames but nothing felt right, and she hates them especially Vicky. my youngest though, Elizabeth occasionally goes by lizzie or betsy (thanks to her grandpa).

just a made up word too sometimes - elizabeth gets Boogs...or Bits, bizzybear.

  • I'm just assuming Bartley is a middle name so.......Lee, Bart, Junior, little Man(norman minus the nor) If that is the lastname then totally disregard the first 2.

  • Bartley is a middle name! Thank you! I already tried Lee, Bart, Jr and little Man, but my DH rejected them :( I think my son is going to be called "The Baby" if we can't decide on one soon lmao! I'm two weeks away from my due date :P

  • my son's name is brody...i call him squig alot. i guess i found his nickname by his actions instead of his actual name. he is a squirmy-wiggle kind-of-kid, so squig fits him well.

  • What's wrong with Junior? Or if you really can't decide what to call the kid then why use that name at all? In fact if you are just going to give a kids a nick name why not just name them that? I have never shortened any of my kids names. Though they do get the occasional Dear or sweety.
