Skylight?

We have a skylight in our home which heats the house up sooo much! We're having to use more electricity trying to cool the house down and would like to save on our energy bill. Is there anything I can do to cover up the skylight or anything I can do to it to not have it heat the house up so much?

  • We have the same issue, but on the flip side, it also warms our house in the winter and we use less heat.

  • Do a web search for skylight accessories. There are all sort of shades and filters that can be installed to block the light when you need to.

  • You can install reflective film on your skylights (kind of like Contact Paper) as well as any other windows that are in direct sun most of the day, that still lets light/allows you see out, is attractive from the street, but reflects the heat of the suns rays. For more information:
