  • Good Luck. To Go to Any real school, he'll have to be potty trained. Most day cares wont even accept 3 yr olds if they're not potty trained or almost completely.

  • you can enroll him but ......the school will call you daily to come clean him & change him if he has had an accident. the nurse or teacher will not take care of it. i have substituted for yrs. & see this on a reg basis.

  • I would call the school that he would be attending.

Ask them all the important questions on their policy for starting  a kindergarten.

You may even be able to hold him back & start working with him on this, then let him be ready the next school year.

  • my twins had just started pt at 4yrs ..enough of the poopy pants...I told them I would give them a gold star for pee and silver for poo...after they got so many for the week I went the dollar general or (dollar tree) to get them a small "reward" toy....Believe me it was WORTH it...

  • Is he spec. needs? If so then there are exceptions that can be made. If not, it shouldn't take long to potty train a 5 yr. old normal functioning child, unless there is a physical medical condition, at which point, once again, puts him as spec. needs where exceptions can be made.

  • I agree with Petie. Unless he is special needs, where developmentally, physically, or mentally, you should be able to potty train him over the summer, before school starts. And here, you can wait until 6 to enroll a child in kindergarten.
