How much do you tip for a hair cut?

Just a cut no color and no shampooing.

  • I think that if you keep returning to the same person it's a good idea to leave a tip!

I leave about 20% too, but for me that's not usually more than $10. (though I just found a lady who cuts my hair for $20 AND she did a great job!!).

  • I'm always so bad at this! I just had my hair thinned out and she trimmed a little off the edges so I only tipped 2 dollars. Am i cheap?

  • So $10 for a $50 cut? That's about what I usually do. Thanks!

  • Why would I tip? Their not working off commission and make a salary.

  • $3-$5, same as I'd tip a waitress since I pay as much for a haircut as I do for a meal for 2.

  • i dont think you really have to tip them. just like the people that do your nails....they make a salary. unlike a server who only makes 2 or 3 dollars an hr and pretty much tottally depends on there tips. i guess its up to you whether you tip your hairdresser or not. i ussually give them about 5 dollars but i dont really think that its expected
