Do you make coleslaw? What do you put into yours?

  • Red Cabbage Slaw with Peanut Sauce

    Peanut Dressing
    1 small clove garlic, peeled
    2-inch piece fresh ginger, cut into eight pieces (peeling unnecessary)
    1/3 cup unsalted, nonhydrogenated peanut butter
    1 1/2 Tbs. low-sodium tamari
    2 tsp. packed light brown sugar
    1 tsp. apple cider vinegar

    Red Cabbage Slaw
    1 8-oz. pkg. Oriental-style baked tofu, cut into 1/2-inch dice
    6 cups shredded red cabbage
    1 medium-sized carrot, peeled and grated
    1/2 cup thinly sliced green onions

    Directions:
    1. To make Peanut Dressing: Place garlic and ginger in mini-chopper beaker, and pulse until finely chopped. Add peanut butter, tamari, brown sugar, vinegar and 1/4 cup water, and blend until smooth. Thin with 1 Tbs. of water or more, if necessary, so that dressing is pourable.

    2. To make Red Cabbage Slaw: Combine all ingredients. Pour dressing over salad, and toss to coat. Season to taste with s

  • I use Cabbage, Green onions, cumcumbers tomatoes and I mix mircle whip and lemon juice(a spash) and about a Tbsp of sugar If you use a whole head of cabbage the put about a Tbsp of sugar in it. If you have any Question just Email.

  • I use shredded red cabbage, white onion and carrot. Add mayonnaise to bind, a teaspoon of ground caraway seed, and season with salt and ground black pepper.

  • I get the bag of coleslaw from the store follow the direction on the back to make the dressing. But then I add bell peppers and onions to it. I have never tried tomatoes and cucumbers in it..but I think I will try that the nexts time when we fix coleslaw bugers.

  • 1 bag (16 oz) cole slaw mix
    2/3 c. mayo
    3 tbs vinegar
    2 tbs sugar
    1 tbs grated onion
    3/4 tsp salt
    few pinches pepper

    Put cole slaw mix into a large bowl. In a small bowl, mix together rest of ingredients. Pour over slaw & toss to coat well. Cover & refrigerate at least 4 hours to blend flavors

    This makes 8 decent-sized side dish servings.

  • Something yummy, but different is Broccoli slaw.  Buy a bag of broccoli slaw in the produce section, toss it with poppy seed dressing, dried cranberries, and slivered almonds.  It's sweet, crunchy and delicious!
