Have you ever had a plaster mold of your pregnant tummy made?

I wanted to make one before I got too big and didnt know what to do with it lol but I want to make one and get a nice box frame and put my sons hand print and foot print molds in there with it. I think it would look very modern and its a cute keepsake to have. Where do I get the stuff to do it? Have you ever done this oe knew anyone who did?

  • I didn't get to do it, but I wanted to so bad. You can check online and I saw the kit at the Motherhood Maternity at a mall a couple of hours from here, right after I had my baby. :( If you have a Motherhood Maternity (or something similar), check there. If they don't have them, you can check online. Here's a few I found.

  • What we did was buy materials used to make casts for broken bones that is used by the military. We then took the cast and my mother made a sculpture from it by pouring plaster in it, letting it dry, and gingerly removing it. She did it so well, she only had to make minor alterations where it didn't form perfectly. She then painted it and hung it by ribbon. I much prefer that to a mummification of my belly. That looks sad to me. Like snake skin or something. I absolutely love my sculpture! It is something to think about. She has it at her house for now because she enters it into art shows.
