  • Young children don't necessarily or ordinarily need vitamins. Did your pediatrician recommend them? I would start by consulting him or her.

  • i dont believe in vitamins, unless the doctor says your child is showing some signs of deficiency.

  • Get the gerber liquid vitamin drops... put one dropper into her sippy cup each day. My doctor said vitamin drops are OK as long as they're no longer drinking formula or breastmilk.

  • There is absolutely no reason that a child who is 15 months would need vitamins unless their diet was highly lacking in a vitamin enough to cause a deficiency. If I were you I would talk to her doctor FIRST and see what is recommended.

  • i always used the liquid vitamins too...but i think i used the generic doc actually told me to and said the genric were fine (and about half the price) son never had any deficiencies, but its better safe than sorry...and besides, we pee out any excess vitamins anyways...dont be suprised if thier urine gets a funny color or smell though, its just the extra vitamins!

  • "and besides, we pee out any excess vitamins anyways."

Not all vitamins and minerals are water soluble, some are fat soluble. And too much of those can have some detrimental health effects.

  • Children don't really need vitamins but sometimes when my son doesn't eat the greatest I'll give him a Flintstones vitamin.

  • ask the ped first but we always started off with my first flinstone's. They are made for younger children and aren't as grainy as the others.
