How do I start potty training my 19 month old twin girls? They are both very different, i think one is ready but one is not. One of my daughters has lately been pooping in her diaper but then escapes from her clothes and diaper and gets poop everywhere! She hasn't figured out the potty yet (she thinks its a toy) and I'm tired of cleaning up poo everyday!

  • Just because they are twins doesn't mean you have to potty train them at the same time.

If one shows signs of being ready, go ahead and start with her.

  • potty train the one who is ready, maybe the one twin that is not will see her sister going on the potty and will want to go also....you can't force a kid to potty train.

  • Here are a few signs if any of them are ready so keep a look out:
-They can easily take off they're clothes
-they asked to be changed when pooped
-they follow u into the bathroom, ask questions and imitate u
-knows her body parts and knows how to say "pee" and "poop"
-Understand where pee and poopd come from and wherethey belong
-show interests in books and videos about using the potty
-she stays dry for at least 2hrs in a row, is dry after naps, and ideally, is poop-free overnight.
-she stops whatever she's doing to poop
    -she isn't constipated

IF she does any of these regularly than it's time. Hope this helps Good luck!!
