Well, Ive often wondered why its called that because nerves do not break down. Anyway, you need help when you feel like you are going to hurt yourself, your children or someone around you. Its a general feeling of "losing it". You may feel like you want to run or get away, you may feel like the slightest noise will just send you over the edge. Remember these are just feelings and most of what youre afraid of wont happen, but if you feel the urge to hurt yourself, then get help immediately. You might not need to be alone. Sometimes having someone else there to keep you calm and keep you safe helps. Dont be unwilling to ask for help.
