  • There are SO MANY different things that could help, it depends on what's causing the cramping (because it's NOT normal). Horrific cramps can manifest as a dairy allergy, due to hormonal balances, a poor diet, a lack of water, the list goes on.
I've tried SEVERAL things to help mine. I gave up dairy and red meat, I started drinking more water, I took a vitex tincture (that I ended up being allergic to and had to stop). Now my cramps are very minor- no more convulsing in bed screaming at my husband to cut my uterus out with a steak knife.

    Good luck.

  • Hopefully you're Feeling Better now! Hope it was Fast & now over & Better! Maybe try Aleve? Midol? Heat or ice packs alternately? A Warm Bath? Myself I've had 5 + Long Weeks of heavy Bleeding. Today since I was SO cold & Dizzy. I used A Warm Wrap I used for my Head when I have A Migraine! But only in reverse, this is one that can be for cold or Hot therapy! I hope you find out your issue! Please Don't suffer like I have to! Since I can't afford medical Care!! Get Well Soon!

  • I take ibupofen when my cramps are really bad; they do increase bleeding.

There is an herb called dong quai (or dong kwai or dong quay, etc) that can help. regular exercise and avoiding meat and dairy during the two weeks before your period will also help, as will drinking lots of water and cutting back on sodium
