  • Alysia, you don't have to answer the breastfeeding question.

Info on how to formula feed is on every can. Easy peasy.

Doc will give you bathing instructions.

No cereal till four months (six if breatfeeding but you're not). Don't bother with juice. Just sugar and you don't want ot go increasing risk of cavities and diabetes.

  • If i remember correctly a sponge bath every other day until the umbilical cord thing falls off.
Most babys drink about 2 oz every 2-3 hours. Just start off with 2oz and if he/she seems hungry give more.
I cant remeber the pee/poop. I think it's poop 2-4 times a day and pee at least 8? My daughter's 8 months so it's been awhile.

  • Eating varies in most babies but the hospital will tell you to feed your lo every 2-3 hrs when they are first born. Peeing you should have atleast 10-12 wet diapers a day when they are new born. Pooping-my son usually pooped once a day or would go 2 days between. If more than two days between I would give him diluted apple juice. Half water half juice.

Bath-i gave my son a bath everyday after his cord fell off. With the cord on, every other day. It just helped ihim get into a routine of bath then bedtime then i would put lotion all over to keep skin moisturized. Good luck and you are gonna be a GREAT mommy!! :)

  • Hi, are you in any groups yet?
Newborns will eat like every 2 to 3 hours. Not to say they are all like that. They tend to feed on demand. As far as bath every day, not at first. You can actually over dry a baby's skin if you over do it. The diaper detail: as a rule of thumb for baby's they have 6 tp 8 wet or dirty diapers a day. Nursing baby's poop differently.

Great to see you on cafemom, getting your questions asked and answered. That's a tough thing sometimes, asking for help!! Congrats on the baby to be. Good Luck. Look me up if you'd like to know more.

  • How often do they eat when their first born? If you're nursing, usually on demand...maybe every 2 hours

Do they get a bath every day? If not is it ok to give them a bath every day? I gave my newborn a bath every day as well as a massage right before bedtime at night to help establish a schedule. My kids still take daily baths and they're 5 1/2yrs & 3yrs

How often are they supposed to pee? Poop? Poop, well I think that depends on the baby. My kids didn't poop all the time which did worry me. My ped said not to worry b/c some breastfed babies don't poop on a daily basis. I used to hear the opposite, but, for my kids, they pooped maybe every other day...sometimes would go 2 days before having a BM. And pee, if the baby is getting adequate feedings, probably 8-10 wet diapers a day. More often after a feeding too.

  • OK, breastfed eat about every 2 hours, with 4 hour stretch for sleep once a day. Formula fed eat about every 4 hours with a 6 hour stretch once a day for sleep.

Keep them clean but not necessarily a regular bath.

Formula fed babies typically poo during every feeding (unfortunately) formula fed about 3 or 4 maybe more times a day. Pee, do they ever stop?

    Hope that helps.
