In his own words....

Newest GOP ad splices together Obama's recent press conferences (in context) regarding the $787 Billion Stimulus/Recovery/Stabilization Act/Bill/Legislation (or whatever it is they're calling it now).

Rather interesting when you put his words in short timeline form--from January to July 2009!

So, did he lie, when he said the "stimulus" plan was going to save/create 3-4 million jobs IMMEDIATELY, or did he lie when he said it was NEVER supposed to be a "quick fix?" Which is it?!

How can a plan be "working" if it apparently wasn't supposed to be "working" yet, or at all?!

When are those who continue to support Obama going to start holding him accountable for the things he says?!

Could it be having political, economic AND military EXPERIENCE is what is really needed for the job of POTUS?!

Why so many excuses and free passes?!

  • Interesting Question, too bad the liberal leaners are more apt to support him than condemn the atrocious spending spree liberals in Washington are engaged in. **Look how quickly they are passing legislation through***... THEY ARE NOT EVEN DEBATING the issues. THEY ARE NOT ALLOWING REPRESENTATIVES SPEAK ABOUT THE ISSUES!!  Many of the MOST EXPENSIVE PROGRAMS IN THIS NATIONS HISTORY, and Democrats won't even take the time to read the DAMN bills and allow debate... To the liberals out there who defend the actions of the dominating liberal politicians in DC, including the President: WAKE UP!!!

  • He has never had a free pass from me. I saw him for what he was thru research and paying attention to what the msm tried to hide from us. Elections have consequences and we are going to really suffer them this time. Most of his supporters will continue with the blind eyes and follow him to the bread line and still be blaming Bush.

2-the stimulus is NEVER going to work. Jackasses used the economy as an excuse to pass every pet project known to man.

    3-never

    4-yes

    5-because he's got a decent stylist. (Sarcastic)

  • Sweet im afraid this is worse then EVER.I just want folks to really THINK about what is happening here.We cannot go back and fix what any before have done...all we can do is move forward. If we do not take action right now and we just "wait and see" we likely will have HUGE regrets.

  • I have to throw sweet-a-kins a bone here. I think I would like to blame all of the complaisant voters out there that are not contacting their elected officials about what is going on. It's frustrating as hell to be discussing these issues with your friends and family, yet when you ask them what they are doing to try to stop it, they say nothing. That includes many of my conservative friends and family. If we don't tell them what we want, they can't read our minds. They will give into pressure of the party because nobody cares enough to tell them what they need from them (elected officials).

But to grly's credit, I think there is a huge case of 'we won, you lost' out there and they don't care what decisions government makes regarding them. And since liberals are the ones that wanted him in office, they are willing to give him more / too much 'wait & see'.

That is just the point. The Dems are continually scheduling votes on huge bills that are not even completely written when the vote is taken. NOBODY is reading these bills in full. If the Dems have nothing to hide why did they rush the stimulus and cap and trade votes so that they happened just before Congress had vacation? Why can't they send each member of Congress off to holiday recess with a copy of the bill so they can study it before they vote? Because the Dems don't want the details publicized!

As far as your moral equivalence "the Reps did it for 8 years too", I don't remember the final votes on things like Medicare Part D or No Child Left Behind happening in a rush. How about proving your accusation with some examples?

  • It does not matter what did or did not happen during the Bush administration. HE IS NOT OUR PRESIDENT ANYMORE!!!!!!! We have a new president, Barack Obama, as of January 20, 2009. He started signing bills and laws on the very next day, January 21, 2009. He, and he alone, owns the mess that he created. And, we will be the ones to suffer and struggle. He knows that kids are going hungry and are homeless. What has he done, on his own, to help some of these families. With his time and money. We are asked to help and give and struggle. Shouldn't he also by example do the same?????? Instead of all the frivilous stuff he does, wouldn't it be nice if he took that money, went to a grocery store, shopped, then took the supplies to the local tent city or shelter? Are we better off with all the spending and pushing through of bills? No, I am not.
