Garage sale tips, PLEASE!

I am having a garage sale next week and I'd love some tips from moms who do this alot.
How do you price items?
What will help make the day go smoother?

  • went to one today and a few people were saying under their breath
"the the prices are too high"
there are other sales with lower prices
i did not see anyone buy anything

price low enough to get rid of the stuff
you want the stuff gone right, the extra cash is the bonus
you do not want to lug it back to the basement,
and low prices give people a rush, they buy things they would not have otherwise
    (can not pass that up)
when you pull up to a sale and see people leaving with bags of stuff , it creates a buzz

good signs, depends on how visuable you are, when driving down the road, you can not read an address, so a big arrow with smaller info, use red arrow on yellow or something that really stands out, if you use more than one arrow sign, use the same colors,

always say hello to people that come, nothing worst than a person who is running the sale talking to your friend and ignoring the customer

  • i make several signs like "baby clothes $2.00 each" "toys $2.00 each" (seperate toys into bins according to size) it saves alot of time. you could still price the more expensive items & furniture individually. good luck:)
