why do they act different?

why do babies kick when they are in the belly non-stop, but when they are newborns they sleep all the time?
I'm just wondering why this happens

  • we toss and turn while we sleep, what makes us think that babies don't do this same thing in the womb, My doctor says babies are awake every 40 or so minutes, than sleep for 40 or so minutes, but my son moves all the time, yes there are times where he is still, but I believe that he just moves to get comfy while he sleeps alot.

  • Newborns still move a lot it is just that when you are pregnant you actually feel it.
