If I contracted West Nile Virus while pregnant, could it harm my baby?

I'm 12 weeks along and I have tried SO hard to avoid mosquito bites (but not let it stop me for spending time with my family outdoors). I got several this weekend and it just has me a little worried about my babies safety.
