Random question. I just got my nails done professionally for the first time. I got a french manicure with the fake nails. Does any one know how often you are supposed to get them filled?

  • OK! Thank you! What exactly do they do when they fill them?

  • You get them filled whenever you need it. The faster your nails grow the quicker you need it. When there gets to be a gap between your cuticle and the acrylic where you real nail shows then you need a fill. And they just fill it with more acrylic, kind of like just adding another coat.

  • Usually the schedule is 2 weeks, but if your nails grow faster or slower, you may need to adjust. What they do is cut them down (if you request it), fill in the grown-out section with new acrylic and repolish the nails. If you had white tips added, it may look "off" because the tip no longer appears at your fingertip. You may want to have them paint over it with an opaque color.
