At what age....

My cutie little alexis is now 3 months old. I was wondering about generally when should a baby be able to sit up on his or her own? I know crawling is like 6 months.

Just curious. :) thankkkssssss

  • I think it's around 5-6 months. My daughter is 4 mos and can only sit propped up for a little while.

  • my son and daughter were 5 months old when they could sit up alone. 6 months when they could push up on their own. but every baby is different some it takes longer some are a lil early

  • My sons sat on their own at 4 months and started to crawl at 5 months but didn't walk till they were about 13 months. However I raised my niece and she sat up by her self at 6 months didn't crawl till she was 8 months but started walking and talking in sentences at 10 months!

  • I have 6 kids and only one crawled at 6 months - that is actually pretty early to crawl.

But to answer your question, most of mine sat up around 7 months.

  • as you can see by the answers, it varies. I have a 5 month old and she has been sitting on her since 4 months. I think anywhere from 4 - 8 months is the norm.
