  • Because anything different scares most people. If its out of the norm, they usually reject it even though it does not bother them in the least! People are just used to the cookie cutter ways. Dont worry about them! Just do your thing!

  • Well with the example you gave, polygamy is just nasty. When a girl starts her period she is to get married and start having some random mans children. Now thats just disgusting!!! We have these feelings because we know that its immoral. Do you think that polygamy is ok?

  • Anon :40, are you serious? Polygamy is multiple marriages, not arranged marriages to children. Look things up before you say anything.

  • I don't agree with children being married off but if an adult woman decided to be in a polygamious relationship what is wrong with that?

  • Deviance. It deviates from the norm, from the accepted, from tradition.

  • It is about principles. If you don't take a stand for what you believe/don't believe in, no one will.

How can one decide something is harmless or will have no effect? People thought Hitler was harmless. It doesn't matter the issue, there will be those that see it as harmless and those that see it as harmful. Everyone has a different perspective.

If a marriage is involved only the first wife enjoys the protections/benefits of the legal marriage. Numerous children can be a financial burden forcing the state/taxpayer to fund the lifestyle.

  • I think being gay is a choice- and no one should pay any attention to it. Nothing is wrong with loving a person, everyone should have the right to love and be loved, if that means its with the same sex, so be it! Everyone has there views in life, those views and opinions are OK to have, but should you make others feel bad because there views are not the same as yours- NO!

  • Who says they don't harm anyone? After all, AIDS started in the gay community, and it's now killed how many millions of innocent children, and adults who WEREN'T gay? Why should everyone have to suffer because one group decides to indulge in deviant behavior? As for polygamy, seems that we are hearing of more and more murder/suicides within those communities. If they weren't harmful, why do women and children FIGHT to get out of them, and never return? Hmm.....yep, your'e right, neither one's harmful. Better try again. But,thanks for playing.

  • Aids didn't start in the gay community it started in Africa! And it would have STAYED In the gay community if there wasn't so many closet homos afraid to come out because of persecution!

If it was excepted by people no one would be afraid to be open about it.
