Alternatives for Bread on a Sandwich?

What alternatives do ya'll have for bread on a sandwich? I am looking for something low in calories and hopefully high in vitamins. I put good stuff "in" my sandwich (lean meat and tons of vegies and it is filling but what would be healthier to put it on/in?

  • Just so you know tortilla shells can be just as high in calories as bread so check the nutrition facts. But romaine lettuce is great instead of bread

  • Substitute your sandwich's bread with whole grain bread. The higher fiber in whole wheat is key for low carb meals. At lunch, be sure to have whole grain bread for your sandwich. Keep your lunch well balanced by having lean meat proteins, some veggie fillings and yogurt or fruit for dessert.
Ive been tracking everything I eat and all my activities on fitday.com recently and it calculates all of your calories, carbs, vitamins, ect on a daily log and really breaks things down for you and puts it in perspective.
