Can i re-use the gerber baby food jar to freeze my homemade baby food??

I have been washing and saving my baby food jars but can i re-use them, can i freeze them? they are glass. and what about the square plastic ones?can i re-use them too.

  • I think the plastic ones might crack but I think you can reuse the glass ones with no problems.

  • I would not freeze in glass without leaving a LOT of room for expansion. I've blown up a soda can before in a freezer and that was a hassle, I shudder to think of opening the freezer to a bunch of broken glass.

  • I wouldnt reuse the plastic ones but the glass ones will be fine.

  • Yes, but don't put the lid on until the baby food is completely frozen or as PPs said you can break the jars.

  • The best way I found is to put the baby food in an icecube tray to freeze it. Then either put it in sandwich bags or in your gjass jars.

  • I reused and froze all my glass baby food jars. I've never used the plastic ones.
