When is the earliest you can get an ultrasound done?

I am going in for my 1st appt next week and should be about 9 weeks- I have heard I will probably get one then- is this accurate?

  • The very first ultrasound can be at any time at all. Its to see how far along you are. You'll see your baby and all that but they mainly just want to know how far along you are. Then you'll get another one around 18-20 weeks to find out the sex and make sure everything is ok. :)

  • You may. They usually will just go off the gestational age of your pregnancy unless you state you dont know or recall when your last period was. I will be having my first ultrasound next tuesday and its pretty much just to determine a edd.

  • 9 weeks is usually the earliest you can hear a heartbeat through ultrasound.

  • Got my first at 8 weeks along but I'm sure you can get them even earlier if you miss your period and have a positive pregnancy test.
