How are sahms supposed to keep from getting bored?

I play with my kids, I cook, I clean, I do laundry, I feed the birds and cats, check the mail, check my e-mail, play outside with my kids, go on play dates, etc etc. Maybe I'm adhd, but I'm so bored all the time. Mentally. What is a sahm supposed to do to keep from feeling so bored?

  • Take up a hobby, read, go for a walk and get your children involved in playgroups so you can meet other Mom's too.

  • College course can be taken online too, don't even have to go to campus. Community colleges are great for hobby courses in adult education and also for degree courses. Some degrees can be earned part time completely on line too. Actually any degree at a college can be part time. Volunteer work too is great. Does your area have a babysitting co-op?

Some moms though just aren't happy at home full time. If you try some of our suggestions but they don't change you after a while then get a part time job or full time. Being a mom is important and being good what ever it takes for us to be good. I doubt you have adhd unknown at all until now.

  • Keep learning. Don't sit there. Get up and volunteer, take up a hobby, learn different ways to provide for your family by meal planning, cooking ect.

  • Get out of the house and away from the kids on a regular basis and enjoy being an adult. It's okay to spend time away from the kids doing something you enjoy and in an adult environment.

Take a college course or a class (exercise class, cooking, craft/art, etc.)

Hang out with friends (they don't have to be moms) and do something fun...or just catch up.

    Volunteer

    Go to the library

Take the kids on a day hike
