Any Ideas?

Ok I'm about to go on my first plane trip as a mom with my son. So I'm going to be checking his carseat & Stroller. Besides those expensive bags, what else can i do to protect them from getting ruined in flight???

  • Why are you checking the carseat? In extreme turbulence, a "lap baby" can become a projectile. Additionally, your child understands the expected behavior in the carseat, and will be easier to manage.

We found that a baby backpack was so much easier to travel with than a stroller; whichever you bring check at the gate, so it will be available as soon as you get off the plane.

  • Remember that you can "gate check" the stroller, which is AWESOME.

Basically, you put baby in his stroller and wheel him around the airport. When you get to your gate, go to the agent there and tell her you want to gate check your stroller.

If you have a connection, tell her that you want to gate check it all the way through OR if you have a long layover, tell her to check it just through to the first stop (then you'll do this again before you take off again).

They'll give you a tag to wrap around the stroller handle. When you go down the jetway to the airplane, right at the end before you hit airplane (usually on the right hand side) will be a door. Fold up your stroller and place it next to the door.

When you land and exit the plane, your stroller will be in the same place on the other side.

    Like magic! lol
