is she eating enough?

my dd is 3 wks old and only eats 2-3 oz every 3-4 hrs is it enough??
i read she should be eating 4-5 oz, but im lucky to get the 3 oz into her most times.

  • Every baby is different. My son was already eating 6 oz every 4 hours by then but my friends baby was only eating 2 1/2 oz every 4 hours. Those statistics don't tell you everything they used to get the numbers and sometimes, medical problem or not, the baby just isn't as hungry as other babies

  • The great thing about babies is they never read the book. They go on instinct...they eat when they are hungry as much as they need.

  • My daughter is two months, mostly breastfed but when I give her formula she will only take one ounce. Maybe two if I'm lucky! She only eats for 3-4 minutes every 2 hours. They say to trust your baby on how much they eat. If they are having enough wet diapers and soiled diapers, they're probably fine.
