meatloaf (surprise inside)

when i make meatloaf, i "clean out" the frig at the same time
what is the strangest things you have hidden in your meatloaf

my 9 yr old likes to help in the kitchen and is not a picky eater, i had her help make meatloaf once and she would not eat dinner (lol!)

  • ketchup. I dont put "weird" things in my meals. I'm a picky eater myself.

    My dad on the other hand, puts ketchup, steaksauce, mustard....gross. lol

  • when we were kids my mom would put bread cut up and a can of vegetable soup in it OMG nasty

  • I put worceshire sauce, eggs, saltines, ground mustard, salt, pepper, some sesoning salt, milk, garlic powder, onion, celery and we like that way

  • I've done shredded carrots or applesauce or day old bread soaked in milk.
    I might try pickles or italian sausage sometime.

  • any bags of chips with just crumbs in, i let the kids smash with a mallet, like bread crumbs plus salt, any stray packages from resturants-arby's sauce, last meatloaf got 4 of these, any leftover mashed potatoes, any leftover corn, last one i cut off corn from 2 cobbs-that went in there, we had tacos i few nights before, well i throw in the little bit of shedded cheese that would just go to waste, i have put in cooked slices of bacon, chop that up, it goes in, when youngest was growing out of baby food, throw in a jar of some kind of veggie, they will never know
