Crying for solid food?!

my 5 month old has been driving me crazy today. she usually takes about 6 oz of formula in each sitting but has been taking 3 in each sitting all day. ive been feeding her oatmeal gerber cereal (about 2 oz a day) off the spoon for about a week and a half. i didnt give it to her today. could it be shes crying because she wants it?

  • Well yes there bellys get use to that heavyness everyday at the same time or around and she wants that have you been able to get into her mouth and see if theres any teeth coming in the sucking maybe bothering her and she is hungry so give her some cereal. Why did you choose not to give her cereal today?

  • at 6 mionths she should be having more than one solid food feeding. talk to her pedi about a scheduale. to answer your question, yes she is hungry. she is growing and =needs more than the formula to thrive.

  • wanted to add that usually cereal starts at 4 months and shortly after veggies and fruits are introduced one at a time. By six months babies are on solids, but still get formula.she just wants more than liquids. :o)
