  • Don't know about moving costs but we took a roadtrip from Denver to CA and stayed in the Comfort Inns on the way. Highly recommendable. It was so much easier with the kids because the rooms are all equiped with microwaves and and fridges which made the world of difference both for us (who were exhausted from driving) and our two little ones who still needed milk etc. Saved quite a bit of money on being able to take food and milk with us and not having to depend on eating out or living on take aways the whole trip.
On another note, Denver is great. Wonderful family feeling and lots to do. Sure you will love it as much as we do.

  • We moved from MD to AZ and it cost us a couple of thousand. At the time we had no children.
When we moved from AZ to NV(where we are now), we had one child and it cost us around $1500.
That was just the truck and hotels, etc. Not the down payment on apts.

  • It depends on how much you have to move, and the size of the truck. You can get a cost estimate from U-Haul.

You may want to caravan...most moving trucks can't handle infant seats.

And look into a moving company. I have a co-worker who's making almost the same move as you, and she found that professional movers were about the same cost as doing it all herself. I don't know what moving company, though.
