  • It is actually because they don't want to deal with a pregnant woman passing out from the pain. It is too complicated. I saw it medically documented somewhere... the ink isn't harmful. And yes, sterilization is a factor. Find a tattoo artist that gives you your OWN needle (Call ahead.)

  • Oh there are high risks! why else would you initial beforehand that you are not pregnant? They don't want to be responsible for anything! Any place that is worth getting a tattoo at will actually not tattoo you if you are pregnant. I would just wait! It's not worth the risk. (and this coming from a thrice tattoed gal)

  • Simply put: You shouldn't trust any tattoo artist who would ever tattoo you while pregnant or nursing. It's a big no-no and would make me wonder about their other not-so-good practices.

  • Because of the risks of infection- you should not get a tattoo while pregnant. Just wait until after your new baby is here.
