is it common to get rashes from fever/virus? is benadryl ok to use?

my 20 month old always seems to get a rash after a long fever. first time he had rash all over his arms and legs. second time, he had rash move from place to place all over his body, and it itched this time, also swelled up in a few places - gave him benadryl then. this time, he's got rash again all over - can't tell if it's itchy but he's not sleeping well for 2 nights in a row - gave him benadryl last night, can i give him benadryl tonight too? is it bad? can i mix it w/ OJ?

  • benadryl is good for rashes for allergies but a fever i would ask a dr, the baby might be having a allergic reaction and need antibiotics to take it away.

  • fevers them self can cause almost like a heat rash... if its itchy it sound more like an allergic reaction, I would talk to the pediatrician

  • It does sound like an allergic reaction to something. Just give it to him but don't mix it with oj.
