Bug Obsession

My almost 18 month old daughter has recently (within the last month or so) has a new found obsession with bugs.. and its not just bugs but if there is a spot on the wall she thinks its a bug. She will completely freak out even if we go over and touch the area and show her its ok. If there is actually a bug (even a fly) she will start crying. Anyone else's kids have this issue? (also posted in toddlers 1-2, we are going crazy with this)

  • It might be a stage. I would say just stay positive. Is anyone near doesn't like bugs? If so, let's have that person not over react around bugs. Try finding an older friend who likes bugs. My DD went through a stage, too, but now, she LOVES bugs, especially rolly pollies, you know those pill bugs. She's now 4, and she made a circle of bug loving friends at school. BTW, her mom (me) hates and afraid of bugs.
