How do you know if your pumped milk is bad?

Is it like cows milk and will smell bad?

  • Yes, it will smell bad. But in general they say that breastmilk can stay in the fridge for about 48 hours, and freezer for 3 months. I always smell my pumped milk before I use it, and if it smells weird in any way, I throw it in the sink.

  • no milk can stay in the fridge for 8 days.i alwasy sip a little to make sure(i know it sounds gross)but if its for my baby,i try it all

  • Yea, smell it, or taste it. Remeber that sometimes after it's been frozen it might taste a little sour if you have a lot of lipase in your milk... it's still fine to use.
